部品課に出社しても未だ仕事がなく・・・・スペシャル・プロジェクト に行ってもやる事が見つからない
と言う日々がしばらく続きまして
・・・
言葉もなかなか通じないし
・・・・
じゃあ・・・語学学校にでも行ってみようかと思い、周りの人たちにアドバイスをもらって
・・・・・・
会社近くのアダルトスクールに通う事になりました。
I went US in January 1985 and became an employee of American Honda motor.
the assigned department was a new department whose activity had not yet started.
Even if I was in the office, there was no work, and even if I went to Special Project, I could not find anything to do.
That's why I had time to spare and decided to go to an adult school nearby the company.
「チミ・チミ、アダルトスクールだって？ 何を教えてくれるんだい？ 良いな～～～？」
と
仰るのですよ。私の親分・・・。
My boss said to me,
Oh adult school !
What will you learn there?
men and women!
周に2日、仕事が終わってからの2時間ほどの授業にしばらく通ってみたのですが
被スパニック系の人達が対象ですから・・・・・・・私の様な日本人には合わないのです。
彼らはブロークンですが、日常会話位は出来るんです。
ただ、書く事と文法が良く判っていなくって
・・・・
ですから授業内容は彼らの弱いところを補うような内容になっていまして
まるで日本の中学英語。
I tried to go to language class for about 2 hours at night.
Because it was a class for Mexican people, the contents did not suit us Japanese.
They could speak broken English, but did not know the grammar.
That's why the contents of the class were like Japanese Junior high school English.
So I stopped to go the adult school
and tried taking a language class at EL Camino College.
Right after that, CRX body work had finished by Special project .
Dix called me and said , Uno san from here was your job!
So, after that
I had become a member at Special Project.
こりゃ意味ないなと思い・・・・1~2月ほどで通わなくなりまして
次に、日系人の社長秘書さんに教わった
エル・カミーノと言う工科大学の日本語クラスを受験してみたのですが
その直後
Dixから「U~san・・・・CRXが塗り上がったんで・・・君の出番だよ～～～！」
とお呼びがかかり
GT4レーサーの組み立て作業に没頭するようになりました。
（（ と言っても・・・作り込みじゃあ無くって・・組み立て作業ですから・・・誰でもできるんですけどね。））
The construction work of the important part was already finished, my work was to load the engine or some other components.
After installing oil tank and fuel sell,
Dix said me
We were going to bring CRX to Eagle factory which was an hour to go by car.
I wonder why to bring Honda Race car to the Toyota Works garage. but the factory was also at an agency of Earls,
and Callol was asked them to assemble fuel line and oil line there.
I was also wondering why they did not make themselbs.
but
it was reasonable to have a craft man who is familiar with them at agent that has all the materials in place.
エンジンやオイルタンク、燃料タンクを搭載した後
Dixが
「1時間ほど離れたダンガーニーの工場までCRXレーサーを持って行くから一緒に来い」
と言うのです。
何しにTOYOTA・ワークスの工場までCRX持ってくんだろと思っていたら
そこがアールズの代理店になっていて
オイルと燃料と水のラインを作ってもらうんだとの事
。
何故にその位自分で作んないんだろうか？
と不思議だったのですが
今になって思えば、全てのパーツが揃っているところで手慣れた職人に作ってもらった方が
無駄もの買いせずに済むんで合理的だったんですね。
I just saw a little glimpse,
the shop, where craftsmen was making a master model for Carbone fiber body, had a small framed painting on the white wall.
It was powderful shop but was cool to me!
ちら見出来ただけですが
ダンガーニーの工場で
・・・・
デフューザーのマスターを削っている工作室の白い壁に小さなアートワークが飾られていて
「おれたちゃ・・・・ただの作り屋じゃなくって・・・・アーチィストなんだぜ♪」
この手の部品類は市販されていて
簡単に入手可能ですし
・・・・
ましてや彼らは作り込みのプロフェッショナルでした
。
These parts were commercially available and easy to purchase.
the member there were Of cause professional craftsmen.
ピンボケですいません。
この手のブラケット類の形状もハイセンスでありました。
Small brackets were nicely shaped.
ある日
アメリカ人としては珍しくスリム体系のおじさんが、ニコニコしながら工作室に入ってきて
Dixと何やら打合せ
。
その後ボール紙をはさみでチョキチョキ切りながら、何かの型紙を作って行きました
。
One day, a slim American came in to the work shop at Special Project,.
after two or three words conversation with Dix,
He cut some paper with scissors and chopped a cardboard.
後日、そのおじさんが出来上がったアルミ製の隔壁を持って再度の来社
。
At a later date,
he came again with the finished aluminum panels.
After placing the panels in the car, fastern with Dzus clips, A stunning fire barrier has been completed.
.
(( It was a perfect job that did not require any minor adjustments or corrections.))
アルミパネルを配置した後 Dzus製の ワンタッチクリップをはめ込み固定
CRXレーサーの室内隔壁が組み上がってしまいました。
（（ 誤差調整もせずに、一発勝負のパーフェクトジョブ。プロフェッショナルでありました！））
その後
今度はシンナー臭く・・・・・ペンキだらけで・・・・小汚いおじさんが・・・ニコニコしながら工作室に来られまして
・・・
Dix 「Uno・・これみてみなよ！」
と仰るのです。
At a later date,
a dirty man full of thinner odor and paint come to the shop while smiling.
He was a painter for a signboard.
As Dix recommended, I looked in to the painters car.
It was a dirty Corolla full op paint.
There was a pool of thinner in the trunk, and there were lots of used brushes floating in it.
行ってみたら
彼の乗ってきたペンキだらけの汚いカローラのトランク内はシンナーの海
。
その中に浮かぶ何百本もの使い古した短い筆
・・・・・・・
・・・
ピンストライプ屋さんでありました
。
左右のドアに
無限の文字を書き込んでもらったのであります。
Disx asked him to write Mugen Logo on CRX race car.
ちなみに
この3色斜めストライプのカラーリングはHRAデザイナーさんがデザインした物です。
By the way,
The design with these three color bands arranged diagonally was by a designer at HRA.
運転席は至ってシンプル
。
The cockpit was so simple.
FRP seat was reinforced with metal pipe.
金属パイプで補強されたバケットシートでありました。
