The first two images are of my first car, a Triumph TR3.
I got it when I was 15 years old and rebuilt the engine, chassis and painted it
by the time I got my drivers license at 16.
It was a very good experience for a young person interested in cars and I have my parents to thank for encouraging me.

The aluminum head for air-cooled star engine, the valve head was pierced, was fixing by Tig welding
Clearance of Old pistons were adjusted by knuled.
I was impressed by the wisdom of American craftsmen who had been cultivated without discontinuation over the years

I thought
Back then many American machine shops would not work on aluminum cylinder heads.
We worked on many old Ferrari, Porsche, Alfa Romeo, BMW, Jaguar and Lotus Twin cam cylinder heads and engines.
We also worked on many Mini, Sprite, Healey 3000, Triumph, Volvo, Ford and Chevy engines, anything that would help pay the bills!
We built Ferrari engines where we had crankshafts, connecting rods and pistons custom made to replace parts no longer available.
In 1980 we even built a racing Honda Civic 1200cc engine!
In 1979 - 1982 we built several Datsun 510, 610 and 710 L16, L18 and L20 engines for SCCA B Sedan class. Kind of a copy of older Mercedes engines.
As our racing successes grew, so did our racing customer work.
In 1984 we built a Nissan Pulsar GT4 tube frame chassis for a customer. This was just before we built our own Renault Encore GT4 tube frame car I raced at the SCCA runoffs.
We then built the two Mini tube frame cars in 1985-86.
We stopped building tube frame cars after that because we were not making enough money on them. It took too much time.
No profit without big manufacturer's budget support.

King Motorsportsで6台のCRX GT4 レースカーを作ったときには
1年に一台のペースだったと言っていた。
自動車メーカからの補助が無くちゃ・・・・利益なんて出なかったよ。
って言ってたね。

I think our first job at Comptech was machining and assembling a Triumph Spitfire 1500. Bad engine!!

To save money BL eliminated camshaft bearings so the steel cam ran in a cast iron bore. If oil pressure was low the cam would seize in the block. We did many of them.
We also fabricated a roll cage for a Mazda RX7 for SCCA racing. It may have been first, I can't remember that far back!!
Another early project was fabricating a roll cage/ frame for a Lotus Europa Twin Cam for SCCA D production. What a bad chassis! Lotus made things very cheap.
